Yes, tiering up any pet will improve its special ability in some way.
It will also allow it to learn additional skills such as Combat EXP 5%, Hunting EXPÂ 5% and more.
Here’s what tiering up each type of pet does.
Cat (Finds resources)
- Increases range for detection of resources. Gatherable resource detection every 10 sec, and detection range up to 34
- Note: Some cats resource detection can be 15 sec
- Cats to avoid
- The Black Masked Cat, Striped Cat, Tabby Cat and Gray Thin Cat have reduced pick-up item rate (every 12 sec instead of 10 sec)
- The Orange Brindle Cat has reduced detection range (28 instead of 34)
- Striped Cat has longer gatherable resource detection interval at 15 sec instead of 10 sec
Hedgehog (Gathering Item Quantity Increase)
- Increases chance of a proc of Gathering Item Quantity
- Increase Talent by 1% per Tier (Talent: Life EXP)
- The must-have pet for life skillers
Dog (Hostility Detection)
- Increases detection range
Hawk (Finds rare monsters)
- Accelerate to once every 10 second
- Note: The best pet with this ability is Carmadun Owl as it has longer item pick up range
- Longest pick up range pet award belongs to Jojo, which only appears in the Pearl Shop during limited times but is tradable via the Central Market
Desert Fox / Reindeer (Resistant to desert diseases)
- Resistance up to 35%
Penguin (Auto-fishing time reduced)
- Auto-fishing time decrements up to 20%
- You cannot stack more than 1 pet of Auto Fishing
Arctic Fox (Talent: Item Collection Increase)
- Increase Talent by 1% per Tier
- Note: Special ability is “resistant to desert diseases”
- You cannot take out more than 1 Arctic Fox
Panda (Taunts Monsters)
- Taunt Frequency can grow to every 4 sec
